After receiving his Ph.D. in economics from the University of New Mexico (UNM) in 2002, Dr. Moffett worked one year as a Visiting Assistant Professor at St. Cloud State University in Minnesota. From 2003 to 2006, he was a Team Leader at the Houston Center for Quality of Care & Utilization Studies (HCQCUS), which is a Veteran Affairs Health Service Research & Development (HSR&D) Center of Excellence and serves as the Health Services Research (HSR) Division of the Baylor College of Medicine. In 2006, Dr. Moffett left Houston for Morgantown, WV, where he was conducted research, taught and mentored students at the pharmacoeconomics and outcomes research PhD program at the West Virginia University School of Pharmacy. In 2008, he returned to the UNM at the Office for Community Health.
Dr. Moffett works as prinicipal and co-investigator on multidisciplinary research teams with collaborators throughout the Health Science Center and Main Campus, affiliated research programs and community partners. His primary appointment is a Research Assistant Professor in Family & Community Medicine, but he has an adjunct appointment in the Department of Economics and at LCF Research.
