Lee, Ji-Hyun Director and Professor of Biostatistics, UNM Comprehensive Cancer Center

Positions

Dr. Ji-Hyun Lee is a Professor in the UNM School of Medicine, Division of Epidemiology, Biostatistics, and Preventive Medicine in the Department of Internal Medicine. She is also the Director of Biostatistics Shared Resource at the UNM Comprehensive Cancer Center (UNMCCC). Dr. Lee has significant expertise in the design and conduct of cancer clinical trials, including early phase clinical trials; in the design of population cohort studies, community-based randomized control trials, and behavioral interventions; and in studies focused on cancer health disparities. To enhance the Resource’s engagement in design, conduct, and oversight of cancer clinical trials at the UNMCCC, she leads the Biostatistics Clinical Trials Group and serves on the UNMCCC Protocol Review and Monitoring Committee (PRMC). She also directs the Resource effort in education, prioritizes and provides biostatistical support to UNMCCC researchers, mentors junior faculty, and oversees biostatistical staff. Dr. Lee is a Certified Professional Statistician through the American Statistical Association (PStat®). Her research area includes: Correlated data analysis, Group/cluster randomized trials; Generalized linear mixed effects models, Cancer research in epidemiology; Health outcomes and behavior research in cancer prevention, and Best statistical practices.
