Dr. Patrick Rendon, MD is a native New Mexican and Assistant Professor in the Division of Hospital Medicine, Department of Internal Medicine. He received his MD from the University of New Mexico School of Medicine (SOM) and completed his Residency and Chief Residency at the University of New Mexico Hospital. His scholarly interests are in resident and medical student education and clinical reasoning. Dr. Rendon has received various awards including the Hospital Medicine 2016 Scholarly Activity Award, 2015 Fellow of the American College of Physicians award, the 2014 and 2015 William Hardy Teaching Award, the 2013 Ervin W. Lewis Resident Khatali Teaching Award, the 2015 and 2016 Ervin W. Lewis Faculty Khatali Teaching Award and the 2012 Gold Humanism Award. His current positions include associate program director for the internal medicine residency program, co-director of the UNM SOM Clinical Reasoning course, director of the UNM SOM Feedback Initiative and Assistant Director for the Office of Medical Educator Development (OMED). He is also an active member of the Society of Hospital Medicine, Alliance for Academic Internal Medicine and American College of Physicians.
