Dr. Salazar has partnered with a number of non-academic entities such as the NM Department of Health, East Central Ministries One Hope Centro de Vida clinic and Albuquerque Health Care for the Homeless (AHCH) to develop partners within our community and real-life learning experiences for students. It is through her collaborative work that Dr. Salazar has created a number of sustainable patient-care/community care programs that also serve as student learning opportunities. Dr. Salazar is the Coordinator of the Diabetes Clinic at AHCH. Her current clinical work within an interprofessional team allows utilization of her expertise in pharmacy, diabetes, motivational interviewing and relationship-centered patient care. Prior to her faculty appointment at UNM CoP Dr. Salazar practiced within an interprofessional team at an endocrinology private practice clinic.
