Tran, Huy Faculty Member

Positions

Tran’s experience and training combine neurology and neurocritical care, providing the bridge in the Neurosciences Intensive Care Unit between the Departments of Neurology and Neurosurgery. He is the senior member of the department’s critical care team in providing telemedicine consults – duties that will increase with the implementation of the Access to Cerebrovascular Critical Emergency Services (ACCESS) project to provide neurosurgical and stroke consultative services to rural hospitals via telemedicine technology.

Tran helps provide round-the-clock neurocritical care at UNM Hospital, working closely with residents in their training in administering critical care procedures and care.

He graduated from the Case Western Reserve University College of Medicine in 2007. He completed his neurology residency at UCLA in 2011 and then completed a neurocritical care fellowship at Cedars Sinai Medical Center. He is board certified in neurology by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology and in neurocritical care by the United Council of Neurological Subspecialties.

Research Interests

Tran continues research to improve the diagnosis and care of our most ill patients and is dedicated to improving processes to deliver world-class care to stroke patients and patients with acute neurological illness.
