Hubbard-McGirt, Stephanie L. Assistant Professor

Positions

Dr. McGirt is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Family and Community Medicine at UNM. She is a native New Mexican from Gallup, NM. She received a BA in International Relations from Stanford University and returned to the Land of Enchantment for medical school at UNM.  She joined the faculty in 2017 after completing residency at UNM in Family and Community Medicine.

Dr. McGirt is Board Certified in Family Medicine. She practices outpatient medicine at the Atrisco Heritage Center for Family and Community Health as well as at the Bernalillo County Youth Services Center.  She also attends on the inpatient Maternal Child Health service and Newborn Nursery service.   Her interests include maternal-child health, integrative medicine, preventive medicine, and health and wellness issues that affect indigenous populations.  Currently, she is working with a multi-disciplinary team in collaboration with the UNM Cancer Center to improve cancer survivorship care for women across the state of New Mexico.
