Liesveld, Judy Associate Dean of Education and Innovation and Clinician Educator, Professor

Positions

Judy Liesveld, PhD, RN, PPCNP-BC, CNE, is a clinician educator - professor and the associate dean for education and innovation at The University of New Mexico College of Nursing. She is the principal investigator of a Health Resources and Services Administration Nurse Education Practice, Quality and Retention grant promoting primary care nursing; an Indian Health Services' American Indians Into Nursing grant and a National Council of State Boards of Nursing grant evaluating a unique model of community college and university educational partnerships. Liesveld is also on the Leadership Council for the New Mexico Nursing Education Consortium, a partnership of all 18 New Mexico (NM) state-funded schools, placing the Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree on NM community college campuses. Liesveld has been a nurse for more than 30 years in nursing education, community health, school nursing, primary care and prison nursing. Her interests include program evaluation, diversity in nursing, global nursing and working with children with attention-deficit hyperactivity disorder, pulmonary issues and developmental disabilities.

Liesveld received her Doctor of Philosophy in Nursing from The University of New Mexico, her Master of Science in Nursing, with a concentration in pediatric primary care nurse practitioner, from Arizona State University and her Bachelor of Science from the University of Iowa.
