Rode, Marty Nurse Midwife

Marty has been a midwife since 1980 and has practiced at UNM since 1986. She feels very lucky to work with a wonderful group of midwives who love their jobs and care for woman with expertise and compassion. 
She attended the nursing and midwifery programs at St Louis University.
Her other professional experiences include Hospice Care,  Sane (Sexual Assault Nurse Examiner) work, and adoption counseling.
Her weekly clinic at Womens' Faculty and Midwife Clinic at 801 Encino Pl  focuses on low-risk OB-GYN care. She loves the continuity in patient care and especially getting to know families through their pregnancies.  She has a special love of soon-to-be big brothers and sisters
She also works several days a week as part of the Uro-Gynecology clinic at UNM's Womens' Health Center, helping women who experience Pelvic organ prolapse and Incontinence.
Her life is blessed with a wonderful, patient husband and is the lucky adoptive mom of two awesome grown kids, and happily awaits grand-parenthood.
She is looking forward to doing volunteer work in retirement doing hospice care and photography.
