I have had experience working with Dr. Ronald Schrader on the HRS Database and have become a facile user of its website. We have collaborated previously in reporting the 4-year cumulative incidence and remission of urinary incontinence in women in the HRS. This collaboration resulted in the publication of the manuscript, "Incidence and Remission of Urinary Incontinence in a Community Based Population of Women 50 Years", in the International Journal of Urogynecology and Pelvic Floor Dysfunction in February of 2009. This work also received the award as the Best Epidemiologic paper at the 29th Annual American Urogynecologic Society Meeting. This continued collaboration in the evaluation of UUI using unique mathematical approach to probability modeling will offer the opportunity to apply for future funding from the NIH based on pre-existing databases.
I enjoy working with the patients who come to our sub-specialty clinic at the University of New Mexico Hospital and I feel fortunate to work with fabulous nurses, receptionists, administrative staff, midwives, and physical therapists that care deeply about our patients. I am lucky to be a member of a physician group which is one of the best in the nation.
