"Electroconvulsive therapy (ECT) remains the gold-standard treatment for patients with depressive episodes. Despite ECT's eighty-year treatment history, the mechanism of action of ECT is poorly understood. Our research uses structural and functional imaging to better understand the neural correlates of both treatment response and neurocognitive side effects."
