Dr. Ferguson is the only board-certified surgical oncologist in the state of New Mexico. He has expertise in the management of cancers of the pancreas, liver, bile ducts, stomach, and esophagus. His research interests include prediction of occult malignancy in premalignant cystic lesions of the pancreas, organ-preserving surgery for early gastric cancer, and novel methods of communication, evaluation, and instruction in surgical education.
