I have a broad background in cancer control with specific training and research experience in health economics and outcomes research, cancer disparities, and cancer epidemiology. As an Assistant Professor in the in the Division of Epidemiology, Biostatistics, and Preventive Medicine in the Department of Internal Medicine at the University of New Mexico (UNM) School of Medicine and Member of the Cancer Control Program of the University of New Mexico Comprehensive Cancer Center, my research focuses on improving access to, and reducing the financial burden of, cancer care. Specific research interests include the application of epidemiologic methods and economic evaluation to the investigation of socioeconomic disparities in access to care and the design and evaluation of interventions designed to reduce disparities.
