Merhege, Amie Lecturer I

Amie Merhege, MSN, RN, CPNP, is a lecturer I at The University of New Mexico (UNM) College of Nursing.  She received her Master of Science in Nursing-Pediatric Nurse Practitioner concentration, and her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from UNM and a Bachelor of Arts in English from the University of Texas at Austin. Merhege completed the Pediatric Pulmonary Center nurse practitioner leadership program during graduate school and studied transition concerns of adolescents and their families with cystic fibrosis. She currently teaches pediatrics and genetic literacy in the undergraduate and RN to BSN programs, is a faculty mentor in the undergraduate honors program and serves as the Level 4 Coordinator in the undergraduate program. Merhege practices pediatric primary and acute care in Albuquerque at After Hours Pediatrics. Her professional and research interests include improving mental health services in primary care, teen pregnancy prevention, and adolescent health.
