Dr. Roberto Gomez is an attending physician in the Dept of Family and Community Medicine whose practice is focused on behavioral primary care and is wholly outpatient. Roberto graduated from the University of Texas Health Sciences Center School of Medicine, San Antonio, 1979. Completed a psychiatry residency at the UNMSOM in 1983 after a medical school rotation in Indian Mental Health, Albuquerque Area. In 1983 Roberto served his National Health Service Corps obligation and stayed on the UNMSOM faculty. Dr. Gomez has had a varied and interesting career, currently his practice within the outpatient division of the DFCM is a general psychiatric practice in primary care: Southeast Heights, Senior Health, Family Medicine Center, South Broadway First Choice Clinic as well Pajarito Mesa Mobile Clinic and One Hope Clinic.

Special interests include Psychohistory, Trauma & Recovery and psychoanalytic oriented psychotherapy.
