Herica Torres, PhD, RN, is a clinician educator – instructor and director of simulation at The University of New Mexico College of Nursing. She received her Doctor of Philosophy degree from the University of Alabama in Birmingham, where she conducted her dissertation research on global health competencies. The title of her dissertation was "Global Health Competencies for BSN education in the United States: A Delphi Method." Her other research interests include simulation in nursing education and health disparities in the Latino population.
Torres also holds a Master of Science in Nursing and Bachelor of Science in Nursing from the University of South Alabama; a specialist certificate in Public Health Management from Universidad del Rosario, Bogotá (Colombia) and a Bachelor of Science in Respiratory Care from Fundacion Universitaria del Area Andina, Bogotá (Colombia).
