Joanne Haeffele, PhD, MSN, RN, FNP-BC, is a family nurse practitioner (FNP) and clinician educator - associate professor at The University of New Mexico (UNM) College of Nursing. She has 25 years of clinical practice experience as an FNP and 19 years of teaching experience in graduate- and doctoral-level nurse practitioner and teaching/learning courses. Her current clinical practice site is the UNM Westside Clinic in internal medicine.

Haeffele received a Doctor of Philosophy from the University of Utah in health promotion and education, a Master of Science in Nursing from the University of Illinois at Chicago with a family nurse practitioner concentration and a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Barat College and the University of Health Sciences – The Chicago Medical School.
