Gwen Nicole (Nicky) Lacerda, MD is a board-certified specialist in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation. She sees patients and performs interventional spine procedures at the University of New Mexico Hospital and Sandoval Regional Medical Center. 

Nicky attended the University of California, Davis School of Medicine and then did a preliminary year in Internal Medicine at the University of Maryland. She attended Rutgers University-Kessler Institute for Rehabilitation in South Orange, New Jersey for PM&R residency and then did a fellowship in interventional sports and spine at Coordinated Health in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania. After fellowship, she worked at Sinai Hospital in Baltimore, Maryland where she provided interventional pain management, non-operative treatment for musculoskeletal disorders, regenerative medicine and concussion management

She especially enjoys participating in resident and medical student teaching. Her areas of interest outside of musculoskeletal and spine care include preventive medicine, nutrition and physiologic benefits of exercise.  Nicky and her family love living in New Mexico where they enjoy hiking, camping and eating lots of green chile.
