Lardier, David Thomas Faculty Member

Positions

Dr. Lardier is an Assistant Research Professor in UNM’s Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Science, Division of Community Behavioral Health. Dr. Lardier’s research interests include the implementation and evaluation of substance misuse, mental health, and sexual health prevention-intervention programming; evaluation and scale development; statistical methodology for multi-level prevention-intervention research; the implementation of evidence-based practices in ethnically-diverse and rural communities; and both youth and community empowerment and resiliency. Dr. Lardier has co-authored over 50 publications specific to prevention-intervention science and community empowerment, and has provided evaluation and methodological support for both SAMHSA and NIH grants. As a licensed professional clinical mental health counselor (LPCC) in the state of New Mexico, Dr. Lardier’s clinical expertise focuses on individual and group therapy, and both crisis and suicide assessment-intervention services and training. Dr. Lardier takes on a strengths-based, empowerment approach to therapeutic practice, as well as grounds his work in practice-based evidence approaches to ensure a culturally responsive clinical experience.
