Rogers, Kendall Professor

Positions

Dr. Kendall M. Rogers, MD, CPE, FACP, SFHM, is a Professor and the Division Chief for Hospital Medicine in the Department of Internal Medicine. 
Dr. Rogers earned his Medical Degree from the University of New Mexico, School of Medicine, and completed his Internal Medicine Residency at the University of New Mexico Health Science Center. His research interests are clinical informatics, physician leadership training and quality improvement. Dr. Rogers received various awards including the 2016 NM SHM Hospitalist of the Year, 2014 NM Regional ACP Educator of the Year, 2012 HIMSS Book of the Year: Improving Outcomes with Clinical Decision Support: An Implementers Guide, the 2011 John M. Eisenberg Award from the National Quality Forum and the Joint Commission, the 2011 NAPH Safety net Improving Patient Safety Award for Glycemic Control at UNMH, 2011 DVTeam Award to University of New Mexico, 2010 American College of Physicians Top 10 Hospitalist of the Year.   At UNM he serves as chair of the Physician Advisory Group (PAG) Chair for UNMMG, is on the UNMMG Board of Directors, and the MISSION: Excellence Steering Committee.
Dr. Rogers is a board certified in Hospital Medicine and Clinical Informatics.  He is a Certified Physician Executive through the American College of Physician Leaders, a fellow of the American College of Physicians, and a Senior Fellow in the Society of Hospital Medicine.  He has served on numerous national committees, now on including the SHM Public Policy Committee and the SHM Information Technology Committee.
He lives in the North Valley of Albuquerque with his wife, Shilpa Reddy, MD, with their 2 young kids.
