Dr. Cunningham’s research is focused on glial and neural stem cells, and how their functions are altered by neurological and neurodevelopmental disorders. Her research has been supported by federal and private agencies; she has served on peer-review panels for the NIH, the American Heart Association and private foundations. Dr. Cunningham, a professor in the Department of Neurosciences, also has an outstanding record of mentoring junior faculty investigators, graduate students and residents.
