Dr. McClain is an associate professor in the Department of Family and Community Medicine. She received her MD/MPH from Oregon Health Sciences University in 2013 and completed her residency in Family and Community Medicine at UNM in 2017.
Dr. McClain is clinically interested in communities that have difficulty accessing health care including people engaged in survival economies, people experiencing homelessness and transgender people. She currently sees patients at the South East Heights clinic, the Truman Clinic and at an offsite free clinic at the Transgender Resource Center of New Mexico. She is interested in wellness curricula and medical student education.
