An Albuquerque native, Lewis graduated from UNM with a BS in biology. He attended medical school in Dayton, Ohio, and received his medical degree in 2006. He completed his neurosurgery residency at the University of Texas Southwestern in 2013, then completed a yearlong fellowship there in complex cranial and skull base surgery. He returned to Albuquerque to join UNM’s Department of Neurosurgery.
Clinical Interests
Lewis has trained in the treatment of brain tumors, meningiomas, acoustic neuromas, pituitary tumors, craniopharyngiomas, skull base tumors, cervical degenerative disc disease, cervical fracture, cervical myelopathy, cervical radiculitis, cervical stenosis, Chiari Malformation, spine traum and spine tumors.
Research Interests
He is interested in the clinical outcomes following skull base surgery with an emphasis on endoscopic techniques and quality of life.
