Julia is a granddaughter, daughter, sister, auntie, and a multi-community member from Northern New Mexico. She’s currently pursuing a Ph.D. in Health & Culture Communications at the University of New Mexico. She holds a master’s in Health Education and is the lead Community & Qualitative Research Specialist at UNM’s Clinical and Translational Sciences Center Community Engagement and Integrating Special Populations team. Her interests are embracing and reaffirming cultural identify as a strategic process to improve health outcomes, specifically in the field of community-based participatory research.
