Anna joins the UNM midwifery practice from the south Texas border where she began her midwifery career in the Rio Grande Valley. Anna discovered midwifery during her first interdisciplinary Bachelor’s degree where she found opportunities to work and study with midwives at internships both in the US and in Mali, in West Africa. Her experiences in Mali solidified her desire to use her skills and knowledge to promote health equity and reproductive justice for all women. Anna graduated from Emory University as a dual certified Nurse Midwife and Family Nurse Practitioner in 2014.
