Ya'at'eeh.
I am Dine (Navajo) and Zuni Pueblo from Shiprock, NM. I was raised on the Navajo Nation and moved to Albuquerque for high school. I received my nursing and midwifery degrees from the University of New Mexico. My interest in womens health came from my grandmother who was an OBGYN nurse for 55 years in Indian Health Service. Becoming a midwife has led me down this beautiful journey to learn that midwife has been apart of my native traditions and birth ceremonies for generations. It is during pregnancy and childbirth that women were supported by other women in the family and community. I am very passionate about continuing this by supporting and listening to women in all aspects of their health. I I believe in and enjoy providing low tech, high touch care as well as educating our future nursing, midwifery, and medical students.
